LWL Clinic Dortmund
The professional dancer and therapist Monica Fotescu-Uta and body psychotherapist Uwe Hillebrandt make the ground tremble together with the course participants. And all this accompanied by fiery salsa music, rhythmic Afro drums or passionate Tango Argentino sounds. The “Change” therapy is based on four central areas. The first is movement therapy, in which patients perceive their body and develop a positive feeling for it. Then there is dance therapy, in which you learn to move your body. In addition, choreo-sophrology, which serves to read one's own movement and to harmonize body, mind and soul, and finally, in theater therapy, word and body unite.
At the beginning of each "Change" hour, the participants meet for a short mood round, which is accompanied by medical specialists.

Inclusive dancing in the Luther Church Hörde
March 2015
Dancing in the church and then also inclusive. At the end of March, women and men with a mental illness presented a dance performance in the Lutheran Church in Hörde.
The special project has three mothers and fathers: Monica Fotescu-Uta as the first soloist of the Dortmund Ballet, the Friederike-Fliedner-Haus as a medical rehabilitation facility for people with a mental illness and the Evangelical Church in Hörde.
The dancers come e.g. from the Friederike-Fliedner-Haus and the Hörden parish. The mentally ill people can experience themselves in a completely new way because they can completely forget their illness while dancing. And there are enriching encounters between the dancers involved, regardless of the illness, which go beyond the dance.
Since the beginning of July 2013, the group called "Dance in - dance out" has been developing various choreographies under the guidance of Fotescu-Uta and has already had a number of successful public appearances.

Inclusive dance project - an extraordinary cooperation between the Friederike-Fliedner-Haus and our parish.
The basic idea is to develop dance and movement forms together with the residents of the medical rehabilitation facility and interested community members over a longer period of time and to choreograph them in cooperation with the former prima ballerina of the Dortmund Ballet, Monica Fotescu-Uta. This experimental approach should enable the participants to deal with new forms of movement and communication. Experiences from previous work with the clients in the Friederike-Fliedner-Haus show that rhythm, music and dance not only have a mood-enhancing effect, but also contribute to psychological stabilization, improve social skills and promote self-confidence. Because it is an integrative project, barriers of understanding and taboos can be broken down and a valuable contribution to mutual understanding can be made.
The choreography is designed in various workshops and regular rehearsals, in which those undergoing rehabilitation and parishioners work together, and performed several times in public, including in the Lutheran Church.
In addition to the professional supervision by Monica Fotescu-Uta, the participants are also instructed and supported by Michael Rieger, an employee of the house. We are happy to have found a professional partner in Ms. Fotescu-Uta, who developed this project idea with us and wants to realize it.
Financing is of course decisive for the realization of the project. Here we are largely dependent on donations.

We look forward to your participation!
